Your new sleeping habits. You will have a good ideal how your baby will sleep if you follow their movements in mommy's belly. If they move all day and let mom sleep at night it's a good chance they will sleep longer at night. Now if you don't notice movement during the day and mommy can't sleep at night because baby is doing yoga all night long. You are in for a treat. They say newborns will sleep about 20 out of 24 hr a day and cry 2 hrs a day. So If baby sleeping all day long, guess what, they will be awake and crying to make up for lost time all night long. If this is the case, you are going to want to work together as much as you can taking turns. Word to the dads you want to be the one getting up as much as u can. Try to remember what momma just went thru. And if mom is feeding then dads you will want to get up and bring your baby to mommy this will help you bond a little and mom will like it to.

Happy New Year! It has been a long time since my last post, it has been kinda wild doing life lately, with Christmas and my new son and now my job has started.
I'm officialy a full time dad! It is alot of work. It is nonstop I mean nonstop Monday 12 am till Friday night. Yes he naps but when he naps there is 1000 thing to do. But I am loving it, I would not change it at all. I was not able to do this with my first I was working too much. My wife and I are fliping roles this time and wow it is a eye opener. There is so many things to do and so many things that you could do and then all the thing you want to do. (I will get in to that later).
I will be back with advice, comments, and thoughts (not all mine) so please check back.

More pre-Daddy thoughts. Your nurses at the hospital are your best friend and teacher watch and learn they will show you everything you need to know about your baby. Keep in mind that some of your nurses have been handling babys and mommys for twenty years and have see it all. Don't be afraid to ask questions, from breast feeding to bathing your newborn they got the tricks and the skillZ. More to come......

More random thoughts: pre-daddy sugestion. Every chance you get "talk to the belly" I can not stress this enough. I did this with my first son and now twelve year later I did the same with my new son. You will be amazed at how your baby will respond to your voice the second they are born. I noticed it more with my second son but is wild to see your baby react to your voice. When I went over to where the nurses were cleaning him up and started talking to him and he instantly stopped crying and turn toward me. That was a great feeling and now a few weeks later he still turns when he hears me. Come to think about it my twelve year old responds pretty quickly to my voice still. More to come........

SKILLZ, What are your thoughts on pacifiers? are they just for when they are needed or used as a regular all the time thing. What works for you?

That is the first question asked on this blog thank you. As far as pacifiers go for my boys was only when needed. I do know that some of my foster kids in the past only needed them to sleep. I will have to say it is alittle weird to see a child near the age of four with a pacifier walking the mall but each to their own. It is highly recomended that pacifiers should be takin out of the picture as early as posible so it won't interfear with the teeth trying to come in and that goes with sucking thumbs aswell.
